About Grant Doyle

With the Master of Arts (Creative Writing) finally completed, I’m back writing and editing web content that takes into account, usability principles, W3C guidelines, web writing conventions, the clients’ aspirations, the customers’ expectations and whatever is needed for search engine optimisation (SEO).

Business Network Australia (BNET) interviewed me as part of its BTALK series; the subject being “Common online copy mistakes.” Hear and read the BNET transcript here.

Teaching web writing

Apart from developing in-house style guides, I also teach 2 separate ‘Writing for the Web’ courses:

  1. Sydney Writers’ Centre - next class is Thursday, 09 February, 2012.
  2. Web Industry Professionals Association (WIPA) – various half day lectures conducted around Australia. Visit WIPA for schedule, pricing and course description.

Travel writing

As well as being a contributing author to the South American-based V!va Travel Guide series, and the U.S. travel web site, NileGuide, I’ve also published freelance travel writing for Get Lost, Qantas and TimeOut.

Post-grad studies

One of the final semesters of  the post-grad studies was spent as a full-time university exchange student in The Netherlands. A blog - Our man in Amsterdam – with links to Flickr albums, kept track of the experience.
